Attending some of the various courses that the IRM offer you also gives the assurance that we are all doing much of the same even in different business lines not just financial services, the principles are the same. It is also great to see employers supporting and encouraging their staff to obtain these qualifications, investing in staff is essential to getting it right in my eyes.

The IRM qualifications are a great way to study. They teach you everything you need to know to become an effective risk manager and are recognised by employers worldwide. Studying at home gives you full flexibility to fit it into your own circumstances – I began my studies when I had just given birth to my second child, so it was perfect for me to be able to study at home (when my children were asleep!) rather than have dedicated days on training courses to attend.

The International Certificate has given me a good base for my risk management knowledge and allowed me to develop my thinking in terms of how we can apply principles and theory in practice.
