Code of Conduct

The IRM's code of conduct sets out the principles and standards of behaviour the IRM expects of members when they perform their professional duties. All members are required to uphold the standards set out in the code and to maintain the reputation of the institute by implementing and observing its requirements.

The code applies to all members irrespective of their membership category, the role they fulfil or where they are employed. It governs the conduct of the individual rather than specific activities. Members are expected to exercise their own judgement to meet the requirements of the code and to seek advice if in doubt.

Members who do not comply with the code of conduct may be subject to the IRM's disciplinary procedures. If a member of the IRM should know, or become aware of any breach of the code, they should notify the Institute. Breaches of the code may also be brought to the attention of the IRM by others who are not members of the IRM.

Queries in relation to the code should be directed to the IRM's company secretary at secretary@theirm.org.
