Irish Chapter
I am delighted to confirm that the Institute of Operational Risk – Irish Chapter is up and running with effect from the December 2015.
This is an important step in the further development of expertise in the management of operational risk in Ireland and the Irish Chapter is focussed on:
- bringing the management of operational risk to the forefront of financial services and other relevant industries
- creating a focused voice for practitioners
- providing members with access to a broad range of best practice materials
- providing access to experts across the many Chapters within the Institute of Operational Risk
In total, there are presently 9 Chapters including Ireland; the other Chapters are England & Wales, Scotland, Hong Kong, Germany, Nigeria, Netherlands, Denmark/Scandinavia and South Africa.
Other Chapters are in the process of being established e.g. Australia, India and USA. Expressions of interests have also been received from a number of other countries worldwide, which would allow the IOR to create access to a truly global perspective on operational risk related matters.
Over the course of 2016, the Irish Chapter will be running a number of member events to share both market insights and best practice; the format of this will very much shaped by the needs of members.
